The main draw for GOLD and ULTIMATE was that you could already play the game for a few days in advance. If you are not interested in future DLC content or the remasters then the standard edition is more then enough at the moment. Lol you don't get the DLC for free, it's what you're paying for which is why it costs more.
I rented the game from Redbox to try it out and loved it, so I bought the gold edition to support Ubisoft, but I don't think it was worth it. if you think you'll but the season pass then maybe the gold edition is worth it, and if you want to support them then it's worth it, sure. but I don't feel like any of the extra stuff was worth it, honestly.
Assassins Creed Legendary Collection worth it? So the collection includes AC Black Flag, Rogue, Unity, Syndicate, Origins and Odyssey. I already own AC Origins and Black Flag. I really just wanted to buy Unity and Syndicate since they look like a ton of fun and nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be.

In addition to this, it feels like many elements from Witcher 3 were adopted into this Assassin's Creed game, such as the loot, level system, and even the quest HUD. Basically this game feels like a spiritual successor to Witcher 3, and that it's set in the Assassin's Creed universe, this isn't a bad thing.
The season pass is one of the best value deals I have seen in a while. You get assassins creed liberation and AC3 that are decent assassins creed games but AC3 is better than liberation. You get 2 expansions that can be their own game and are worth the cost of season pass alone. You also get some legendary armour with season pass and armour.
